Wrapped in Fabric (1) (2026)
Paper bag, corduroy, binder clips
13 x 12 x 7.5 in. (33 x 30.5 x 19.1 cm)

Part of an ongoing series in which Shirt selects and saves discarded objects, subjecting them to a process of treatment that unsettles their assumed value or lack thereof. For this work, a crumpled brown paper delivery bag, receipt still stapled to it, is wrapped in a strip of dark blue and bleached corduroy cut from the bottom of a button down shirt the artist still owns, and held in place with a two, small binder clips. Both the bag and the fabric had been saved in the studio for many years before being brought together.
